EXPERIENCE

Gecko Roamin’ – Owner/Artist                                                                                                                            January 2005 - Present
Since its founding, Gecko Roamin’ has evolved and morphed through a variety of artistic mediums. These include painting, photography, jewelry design, catering, and event planning. Gecko Roamin’ gives me the opportunity to use my creative talents as impulses and demands arise. From 2006 – 2008, my business became a catering service for the Haskell Company’s corporate yacht in Jacksonville, FL.  In 2009, I provided paintings for the Art 4 Music Silent Auction in Boston, MA. I have created paintings for various fundraisers, murals for home décor, and back drops for school stage productions. 2013 – 2016, I focused on photography and travel while living abroad. 


As a small business owner, I handle management, planning and strategy; including all financials, sales, and marketing. My daily operations consist of schedules and budgets, ordering supplies, working with clients to create sculptures to their specifications, and deliver quality pieces with exceptional customer service.


Everglades Holiday Park - Fort Lauderdale, FL - Airboat Captain                                                    June 2018 -  Present
I am a certified airboat captain and Everglades guide. I drive a two ton airboat with a 30 guest capacity. My duties include insuring guest safety while onboard and exposing them to the wonders of the Everglades. I have researched the history of the Everglades and the Seminole Tribe, as well as the flora and fauna, and use my one hour tour to share this knowledge with my guests.

NEO Plan - Trainer/Consultant for MCAS Iwakuni, Japan                                                          January 2014 – April 2016
As the Non-combatant Evacuation Operation Trainer for MCAS Iwakuni, I facilitated in the training and preparedness of civilians and dependents in the event of a military base evacuation. This training encompassed an overview of the evacuation process as well as the compiling of Department of Defense forms, documentation, and supplies necessary to smoothly navigate the NEO Plan. I developed four levels of training presentations and conducted an average of three training events per month for the base, squadrons, and individuals.

L.I.N.K.S. (Lifestyle, Insights, Networking, Knowledge, Skills) -  Mentor                        January 2014 – April 2016
As a LINKS Mentor, I facilitated in the training of various aspects of military life to include the history of the Marine Corps, rank structure, social etiquette and protocol, services and resources, finances, family readiness and deployment, NEO preparation, education, volunteer, and career opportunities.

MWSS-171 Command Team Advisor & Family Readiness Assistant                                        August 2013 – April 2016
As a member of the command team, I helped to coordinate a variety of annual events for the Marines and families of MWSS 171 to include field days, holiday parties, and social events for the spouses. As a Family Readiness Advisor, I assisted the Family Readiness Officer in welcoming new Marines and families to the station and provided support and service information in emergency situations for families of deployed service members..

Gregory House Programs, Honolulu, HI – Administrative Assistant                         September 2001 – August 2004
Gregory House Program is a non-profit housing program throughout Hawaii. In addition to client services and office management, my duties included client database maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, the production of a monthly newsletter, and the planning and coordination of annual fundraisers.​

My duties included the overseeing of museum exhibit design projects from concept to installation, maintenance of schedules, budgets, and project files, preparation of internal and external reports pertaining to job status, deliverables, and cost estimates as well as coordination between the design team, contractors, and clients.

My duties were to maintain and reconcile budgets for site specific accounts payable. Prepare, distribute and track general contractor bid packages and submissions. Monitor construction project budgets and recommend approval or denial of work orders, change orders, and sub-contractor draw payments. Track construction project schedules. I was also the point of contact for sub-contractors, utility providers, and vendors and performed all general office duties.

Savannah Development & Renewal Authority, Savannah, GA – Main Street Manager  Sept. 1993 – Nov. 1994
My duties included the development and administration the city's main street program. I assisted in the design plans for rehabilitation and restoration of main street architecture, developed marketing campaigns to attract new businesses and shoppers, and planned or scheduled festivals and special events. I maintained all of the files and was responsible for the general administrative duties of the office such as payroll, taxes, and reporting to the Historic Review Board.
